1 review for Teaching Children to Care

  1. Madeline Horrigan

This book was the best resource for me during the last 20 years of my elementary school teaching career. My original copy is high-lighted, dog-eared, written on and post-it laden. I read it over and over at the start of each school year. As the Responsive Classroom point person on the staff at The Duke School, I had it nearly memorized. I love the quote from Ruth Sidney Charney about teaching discipline with no apologies…every year. I came to call this book my Responsive Classroom Bible. It is definitely a five star read.
