Erin Whitt is an elementary school counselor in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Erin holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education, both from Old Dominion University. She has ten years of school counseling experience in elementary and middle school settings and previously worked in the mental health field, serving adults, children, and adolescents. Since completing her first Responsive Classroom course in 2019, Erin has witnessed the transformative impact of the approach on the academic, social, and emotional learning of her students. She is especially passionate about helping students build self-regulation and self-advocacy skills and believes deeply in the power of Responsive Classroom strategies to empower students and educators alike. Erin is delighted to share these tools with others to begin their Responsive Classroom journey. In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature through hiking, listening to live music, and spending time with her dogs, family, and friends.
