See MTSS as a system that offers hope to all students.
Not all students receive the instruction and support they need at the right time or with the right intensity. Without a clear
system in place, it can be difficult to identify needs, provide targeted support, and ensure all students can succeed.
The goal: All children will learn and demonstrate the social, behavioral, and well-being skills that directly contribute to
grade-level learning.
The plan: Provide the right instruction and support at the right time, with the right intensity.
The framework: Three tiers of support.
Four positive changes:
• Improved outcomes for all students
• Increased educator confidence and self-efficacy
• Reduced discipline referrals
• Improved school-to-home relationships
Educators use MTSS to support social, behavioral, and well-being outcomes; to identify students who need additional
support; and to plan and monitor interventions for those at risk of academic failure or who need to improve in these
areas.
This course offers a framework for confidently implementing MTSS. It provides a structure for supporting the whole
child—their development of academic, social, behavioral, and well-being skills—through evidence-based practices
across all three tiers. It is designed to strengthen educators’ ability to proactively identify and address student needs
while delivering high-leverage instruction.
Choose to implement MTSS in a way that supports every student.
