Mark E. Emmons, M.Ed.

Profile

I have been in the field of education for more than thirty years. Most recently, I retired from teaching third/fourth grade students in a multi-age classroom in the small, northern Vermont town of Jay. I used Responsive Classroom in my classroom for more than fifteen years. I also taught Athabascan Indian children (kindergarten through fifth grade), for two years, in a small village 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle in Alaska.

I live in Derby, Vermont (which is almost Canada!), love to ski, and most importantly, I love to "play in the dirt."  My 24-year-old daughter is working on her Master's Degree in French.  She is in the Middlebury College Study Abroad Program in one of the best places to learn French, Paris!  I'm looking forward to visiting her again.
