Funding Responsive Classroom Implementation

Once a number of teachers in a school are implementing the Responsive Classroom approach in their classrooms, a momentum builds and there is often an impetus to incorporate Responsive Classroom principles, tools, strategies, and structures on a schoolwide level.

In addition to classroom training, we support schoolwide implementation of the Responsive Classroom approach through services and resources that:

  • Enable school leaders to make the whole school environment reflect and support Responsive Classroom beliefs about learning (areas addressed include lunchroom, playground, school office, approach to schoolwide discipline, etc.)

  • Engage and refresh teachers and school leaders at various levels of experience with Responsive Classroom implementation and practice.

Every school’s journey toward Responsive Classroom schoolwide implementation is unique. Along the way, we offer a range of services to help schools plan and implement Responsive Classroom strategies successfully. We are happy to work with your school to figure out which services will help you move toward schoolwide implementation and when these services might be appropriate.

Schoolwide Consultation

A consulting teacher can work with your school to:

  • Help everyone in the building understand and support classroom proficiency in Responsive Classroom practices, including administrators, paraprofessionals, and other school staff

  • Help develop a core team of teachers, typically a group of six to ten teachers who commit themselves to deepening and extending their knowledge of Responsive Classroom practices. They will eventually assume leadership roles by facilitating Responsive Classroom study groups and opening up their classrooms for demonstration lessons

  • Help address building issues, such as recess, all-school events, schoolwide discipline, etc.

The cost for consulting services is $1500 per consulting teacher per day, plus expenses.

To learn more about schoolwide consultation services, please contact Allison Evans at 800-360-6332 ext. 143 or allison@responsiveclassroom.org.

Participants learn what schoolwide implementation looks like and hear other schools’ successes and challenges — those they faced at the beginning of the process and after 10 years’ experience.

The cost of the conference is $320 per person.

To learn more about the conference, please go to www.responsiveclassroom.org/rcsc or contact Allison Evans at 800-360-6332 x 143 or allison@responsiveclassroom.org
