Once teachers have completed Responsive Classroom I, their next step is to participate in Responsive Classroom II. Our schoolwide package for this service includes the following suite of services and resources:

Responsive Classroom II

A Responsive Classroom consultant will come to your school and lead up to thirty participants in 4½ days of professional development exploring and modeling key Responsive Classroom teaching practices with a focus on building classroom community and improving academic engagement. Topics covered include:

• Teacher Language (with a specific focus on reinforcing language and open-ended questions)
• Classroom Organization
• Collaborative Problem-solving (with a specific focus on problem-solving conferences)
• Guided Discovery
• Academic Choice

Each participant will receive a resource book and a copy of Learning Through Academic Choice.

Two Workshop Days

A consultant will return to your school for two consecutive days:

• Responsive Classroom Team Workshop: Prepares your school's designated Responsive Classroom team for their critical role in successful implementation of the Responsive Classroom approach (5–8 members, including the principal).
• Support Staff/Specialists Workshop: Provides these critical members of your school community with basic knowledge of Responsive Classroom practices.

Ongoing Consultation

A consultant will check in with you regularly by telephone and email during the school year to address questions and issues that arise, and to help you accomplish successful schoolwide implementation.

Responsive Classroom Resource Library

A collection of 27 extraordinary print and video resources that will support your teachers in successfully implementing core Responsive Classroom practices in the classroom.

Responsive Classroom Schools Conference

Our national conference is a forum for administrators and teacher leaders to gather to share ideas and questions, successes, and challenges on the road to schoolwide implementation of the Responsive Classroom approach. One free registration to this conference is included in our schoolwide package; schools are encouraged to send a team.
